this will be the main page for my first website comp I have come up with. i want to do the sliding boxes and captions with J/query, I will just have a picture of the whole burger and the name of it. Then you can click on it and it’ll take you to another page with perhaps a coda slider explaining a little more about each burger.. like the meaning behind the name (the george washington burger for example). I will also try to take some up close photos to make it a bit more interesting perhaps.

for this one i want the main page to be pretty simple. they can click on the text that says enter and it will take you to another page talking about the different burgers i chose. for that i’ll do the code slider 1.1.

UPDATE: here is a little info on why the sour cream and cherry burger is called the George Washington burger. “When George,” said she, ” was about six years old, he was made the wealthy master of a hatchet! of which, like most little boys, he was immoderately fond, and was constantly going about chopping everything that came in his way. One day, in the garden, where he often amused himself hacking his mother’s pea-sticks, he unluckily tried the edge of his hatchet on the body of a beautiful young English cherry-tree, which he barked so terribly, that I don’t believe the tree ever got the better of it. i don’t think that there will be stories like this for the names of the other burgers i have chosen. i will of course though list everything that goes on each burger. i believe the pineapple upside down burger is hamburger patty, bun, pineapple, sour cream and teriyaki sauce.

the Tijuana temptation is hamburger patty, bun, (your choice of cheese, Pepper Jack, American, Swiss, Cheddar, can also use nacho cheese, i believe there is one other kind but i can’t remember) lettuce, tomato, onion, sour cream, refriend beans, crunchy tortilla shell and perhaps olives.

the pastrami and egg is hamburger patty, bun, cheese, egg, pastrami, lettuce, mayo, tomato and onion.

there are also four sizes of burgers (well five if you include the kids burger) 1/3lb 2/3 lb 1 lb and they even have a 5 lb burger, you need to give them a two day notice however if you dare to try it!

I will be going to calamity’s this week sometime to take pictures of the burgers and topppings so as of now i’ll just be taking pictures off of the internet and use them as place holders.

• 1 teaspoon honey

• 1 1/2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)

• 1 tablespoon active dry yeast

• 1 tablespoon olive oil

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 3 1/4 cups wheat flour

can also add italian seasonings to the dough! Oregano,basil,  etc.

Here is my idea for my second website. There will be tabs on the top for people to navigate throughout the site.

I want the first page people see to just be a large picture of the pizza they will be making, then they can click on it to go to another page showing the how-to for making that pizza. I forgot to list the needed supplies which will also be listed with the needed ingredients so here are the supplies people will need for making the pizza.

Then below that I will add a link for the step by step instructions with the pictures following the whole process. I will do the lightbox effect for all the pictures so people can click on them and see them larger. I will have all the instructions on one page instead of making people click a next or previous button in order to navigate throughout the instructions. I think this will be better for people who need to go back and check on a step and make sure they did everything correct. Can also do skip navigation.

I may make a sidebar listing cooking websites that I want to share with others.

I liked the overall layout of the blog theme I had to begin with, so I decided to not change to much with the layout. I did make a header in photoshop, nothing to crazy, don’t want to distract a reader from the main posts. I also added some widgets and changed font colors and link colors and made a hover effect for the links. I wanted to change the color of the green tabs, I found a html code for it, but just couldn’t get it to work. So I will mess with it more until I figure it out because I really want to change the color and hover color. At first I had a bunch of different colors of font for each post however, I decided that looked pretty busy so i changed the font colors to be the same for each post I make.

So this is the original recipe that I found for making the pizza. I will include this one because I altered it to how I like (which will be the main recipe which will include all the step by step photos). Sooo maybe people will want to alter this original recipe to what they like? does that make sense? idk…

INGREDIENTS for original recipe (not as tasty as my version).

• 1 teaspoon white sugar

• 1 1/2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)

• 1 tablespoon active dry yeast

• 1 tablespoon olive oil

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 2 cups whole wheat flour

• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

DIRECTIONS

1. In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over the top, and let stand for about 10 minutes, until foamy.

2. Stir the olive oil and salt into the yeast mixture, then mix in the whole wheat flour and 1 cup of the all-purpose flour until dough starts to come together. Tip dough out onto a surface floured with the remaining all-purpose flour, and knead until all of the flour has been absorbed, and the ball of dough becomes smooth, about 10 minutes. Place dough in an oiled bowl, and turn to coat the surface. Cover loosely with a towel, and let stand in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

3. When the dough is doubled, tip the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and divide into 2 pieces for 2 thin crust, or leave whole to make one thick crust. Form into a tight ball. Let rise for about 45 minutes, until doubled.

4. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Roll a ball of dough with a rolling pin until it will not stretch any further. Then, drape it over both of your fists, and gently pull the edges outward, while rotating the crust. When the circle has reached the desired size, place on a well oiled pizza pan. Top pizza with your favorite toppings, such as sauce, cheese, meats, or vegetables.

5. Bake for 16 to 20 minutes (depending on thickness) in the preheated oven, until the crust is crisp and golden at the edges, and cheese is melted on the top.

So for the tricky part! I’m not quite sure on EVERYTHING that I altered for my recipe. SO for now I shall do my best and just briefly describe what I changed and then I will make the pizza this week and figure it all out! I used all whole wheat flour and no all-purpose flour, I also added quite a bit of honey and some some italian spices. I usually substitute applesauce for sugar also because it is healthier and you can’t notice the difference. Just not quite sure if I changed that for this recipe. I will make a couple different variations of the pizza and see which works the best. I will keep track of the different variations I do so I can maybe include those on the website. Say some of them didn’t work out I can have a page dedicated to what not to do??? ya, I like that.

NOW for the TOPPPPPINGS for the pizza!!!!!!! Are you excited? You should be! This is the BEST part! There are soooo many different things you can put on pizzas!

Where to start?!?! artichoke hearts, spinach, peppers, bacon (I’m not saying put all of these together, just making a list for people to choose out of these ideas for possible topping variations) BBQ sauce—preferably honey BBQ sauces, white sauce (which I think is kind of gross…) pepperoni, salami, chicken, beef, italian sausage, asparagus (i know sounds weird, but it’s AMAZZZZING!) garlic, pepperoncini, jalapenos, tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, etc. this could go on FOREVER! I shall add more to this later just you wait!

I will also have some sweet sweet tunes on the page for people to listen to while making their delicious pizzas. I will include links to good websites to snag tasty recipes from. I want to make a bunch of different variations of pizzas so I will take pictures of all the finished ones and make a list of the different toppings I used. I think that I will only have one step by step with instructions and pictures for each step, but I would like to make a page dedicated to different topping variations with just a picture of the end result.

I may also include some ideas for what to drink/eat with the pizzas???

Oh, I will also make a nutrition chart!
